A show rating, class position and championship title are different pieces of information. Keep the event and organizing system attached to each.
Keep the year, division and source attached.
Rating is not the same as position
USCA describes conformation evaluation against the breed standard and explains ratings including VA, V and SG. A rating describes an assessment within that system; position records where a dog stood in a particular class.
A profile that says only “V1” leaves useful questions unanswered: which show, which year, which class and which coat division? Start there before comparing it with a different dog’s record.
An AKC championship follows its own framework
The AKC explains that its conformation championship requires 15 points, including two majors under different judges, with points under at least three judges overall. That is not a direct conversion table for an SV-style show rating.
A dog can have records from more than one system. Displaying both is useful; collapsing them into a single invented “global grade” removes the meaning readers came to find.
Read our featured class correctly
The homepage’s original featured top ten comes from a named 2026 BSZS adult long-coat male class. In that source list, six VA placements precede V1. That makes V1 the seventh recorded position in the class. It does not make the dog the seventh-best German Shepherd in the world.
Our rank emblems are limited to supported top-25 event placements. The visual treatment makes those achievements easy to recognize, while the class label tells you what was actually earned.
What a fair comparison keeps visible
Open the class result, not only a trophy photograph. Check whether the two dogs competed in the same class and year. Note when a list is only a tracked selection from a larger event.
If you are researching a breeding or purchase decision, review the additional evidence relevant to that decision. A respected show record is worth understanding accurately; it does not need to be inflated into a health guarantee to matter.
