Inside the index

A modern index should make the record easier to understand.

What GSD Index offers: connected dog profiles, event rankings, trial discovery and a clear separation between evidence and paid advertising.

THE SHORT ANSWER

GSD Index connects the dog, the result and the explanation. Our value is making evidence easier to explore—not claiming a badge can answer every question.

One place to move from curiosity to evidence

Start with a dog profile, follow the named event, understand the title, then explore a trial near you. That is the experience we are building: a modern reference platform where the information connects instead of leaving you with isolated names and unexplained abbreviations.

The directory includes German Shepherds across working and show records and coat types. Coverage is selective and growing. We do not claim to be the largest, officially endorsed or a complete registry.

A ranking with its context intact

A rank belongs to a documented event and class. Our displays preserve that context and explain the source. A show placement is not a medical result, and an IGP total is not a universal breeding score.

The visual design should make achievements easier to read without turning them into claims the evidence cannot support. Read the methodology when you want to understand a gauge, badge or ordering rule.

Owner participation without buying a position

Owners can submit applications to claim an existing profile, add a dog and provide photographs or updates for review. Evidence and permission are part of that process. A verification badge describes the review it represents; it is not a health warranty.

Stud advertisements are a separate service. Paid inclusion does not change an official result or automatically place a ranked dog in the stud finder. Current pricing and checkout availability belong in the application flow, where they can be kept accurate.

What earning trust looks like

The standard is practical: a reader should be able to identify the source, understand what is missing and see whether a statement is a result, an owner report or an explanation. The knowledge library follows the same approach, with dated sources and explicit limits.

Our ambition is to become the most useful modern starting point for German Shepherd research. That position has to be earned through accurate records, useful tools and good editorial work. It cannot be established by writing “the best” in a headline.

  • Explore real profiles and their source links
  • Compare like-for-like event records
  • Understand unfamiliar terms in the knowledge library
  • Find events and confirm details with the host
  • Keep paid services separate from earned results
